This summer has been a scorcher. Now, a few leaves are changing colour. By the time the ink is dry on this issue of Today’s Senior the BC public school situation will either have been resolved or still pending an outcome. One fact, however, is for certain it’s a different world out there compared to the archaic past some of us experienced and/or survived in the analog chalk and straight nibbed days.
That’s why I enjoy thrift stores because of the atmosphere, and how they remind and serve communities, particularly those genuine one’s that use 80% -or more- of the funds raised, to truly give back.
THRIFT STORES ARE SPECIAL
Thrift stores, thrift stores, they are GREAT, with all kinds of goodies and so much fun, FOR GOODNESS SAKE. Books of all sorts for a buck or LESS. Some of us are addicted, I must CONFESS. There’s so much time to wet the APPETITE, and none of that mall atmosphere or marketing techniques to FIGHT. There’s browsing around, searching for little TREASURES, like that old country feeling devoid of today’s fast moving PRESSURES. Thrift stores are islands of CHARITABLE INTENTIONS with helpful volunteers who do not perhaps possess the same paid employee APPREHENSIONS. Proud to serve, happy to SHARE. Thrift stores help out communities EVERYWHERE.
