I miss those wonderful days of films, developers, fixers and washrooms turned into darkrooms. Thus, this rhyming song to replenish the past.
FIXED FOR GOOD TODAY, FOLKS!
I long for Kodachrome, Ektachrome and Anscochrome too, roll back holders, sheet film and all that photographic magic. Names like Nikon, Yashica, Minolta, and of course, Leica, what those memories do. I’ll tells you folks, what we have today is tragic. So long darkrooms, and developers, we’ve been fixed for good. Gone is that magic smell of acid stopbath. Practically everything now – like Durante said, is "instantaneous". We were so enlightened by what we were exposed to, go back, oh, if only we could! I can almost hear Jimmy on the vaudeville stage singing, “Folks, digital is virtually insane-ious”. No more light meters, no more out of focus, one shutters at today’s technology. No more of that good old fashioned "hocus pocus". Good night Mrs. Kalabash, wherever you are. I makes no apology.
