The Bayshore Inn and Trader Vics,
yesterday’s reflections a memory or two of trips.
Like returning, on a Union Steamship
at night to Vancouver from Victoria.
How about Black Ball’s ferry,
The Smokwa to Horseshoe Bay
after a weekend on the Sunshine Coast
or being there at The British Empire Games
at Vancouver’s Empire Stadium
and seeing the Bannister/Landy race,
does that kind of help restore ya?
Yesterdays memories, which ones do you remember most,
perhaps the penguins in Stanley Park?
How about the Shrine Circus
(with pink popcorn) at the PNE.
The neon lights of downtown Vancouver in the dark.
Could a postcard take you back to an open rail car,
surrounded by unbelievable scenery,
riding the CPR Dominion, the magic of Lake Louise,
rushing pristine rivers, Tunnel Mountain.
Were those special days, what’s your opinion?
Do you remember Butchart Gardens at night
and the wonder of watching the colours of that ever changing fountain.
