Antennas had faded away from ROOFTOPS.
It was now satellite hook-ups and cabled TV.
No more Father Knows Best ‘POPS.’
Right smack in the middle of a changing SOCIETY.
We loved the sound of Hi-FIDELITY
and eight track tape MACHINES.
Possessed a different kind of MENTALITY,
when us seniors were dreamy eyes TEENS.
Rock and Roll was still CONTROVERSIAL
and cars with fins looked like they could FLY.
The soft drink folks had really cool COMMERCIALS
and ‘groovy’ was an expression that replaced ‘hot dog’ and ‘APPLE PIE!
Transistor radios, they were HOT.
A computer? What was THAT?
With a ‘mouse’ and ‘hard drive’ not yet CAUGHT.
Learning to jive, you were one cool CAT. Antennas had faded away from ROOFTOPS.
There were satellite hook-ups and cabled T.V.
No more Father Knows Best ‘POPS’.
Us seniors are still right smack in the middle of an exponentially fast CHANGING SOCIETY!
