Looks like what used to be ‘regular’ has turned into ‘PREMIUM’. Oh, well, I suppose ‘thems’ was the BRAKES. Today the message has truly become the MEDIUM. Why didn’t we listen to Marshal McLuhan, for goodness SAKES!
Look at the glossy posters at transit STATIONS. Selling everything from burgers to higher EDUCATION. So much is marketed into a high definition, full colour image, SENSATION. For all that wonder we defer deeply, our humble APPECIATION. Ah, what mortal ‘fuels’ we used to BE. Now, we’re ‘lubed and oiled’ with graphic SUCCESS. From that metaphorical rear view mirror there is nothing to ENVY. Shucks, us dinosaurs better wake up, smell the ‘virtual reality’ roses and replace those old fashioned worn out windshield wipers, I GUESS.
Do you remember when we could drive to White Rock down by the beach and there were no parking meters? Steveston, thankfully doesn’t have any parking meters yet. Hopefully that will never become once upon a time. Trying to park in Stanley Park isn’t usually a picnic anymore either. Tommy Douglas vision of Medicare was great. Too bad he didn’t include patient parking. What a pleasant hospitable situation that’s become.
