IF YOU KNEW VANCOUVER
If you knew Vancouver, like we knew Vancouver, oh...oh...oh...what a town. There was none so classic, simply fantastic, holy mackerel downtown Granville Street it was like magic. Street car riding, cars but not such a lot. Go down Davie Street, with your baby, maybe to English bay, take a walk. If you knew Vancouver, like we knew Vancouver, oh, oh, what a town, Loved Love’s Restaurant, just as great was Scotts.
High Rise buildings, certainly not. The North Shore Mountains in the twilight of the moon, what a view from Stanley Park’s Lost Lagoon! The Sylvia Hotel was still covered in vine, radio station CHQM’s Candlelight and Wine, Bill Bellman’s Almanac on CBUT Channel 2 and Bob Fortune, doing the weather using a weather balloon. If you knew Vancouver like we knew Vancouver, oh, oh, what a town.
There was the Rhythm Pals, Mike, Mark and Jack. Hey, do you remember Monty McFarlane on CJOR? How about Jack Webster, ‘precisely’, and Pat Burns, does that take you back. If you knew Vancouver like we knew Vancouver....oh...oh...what a town.
