Most of us young academics with unreserved laughter roared. Also, so much fun were the ink wells that fit into a hole in our desk. The wonderful straight nib pens were also a delight.
There were blotter rolls and all those ink smudges, with frivolity the time we would invest. With a bit of luck, a huge half hour reel from the National Film Board might hopefully melt, get stuck on the projector wheel.
We would watch the film frame melt, projected on the screen, what a sight. Whoopee, all that extra splicing time, from a subject like language or arithmetic steal. Just like a Vancouver Sun Norris cartoon, increase our youthful appetite.
